Invasive Species Removal and Nature Walk at Orange Twin
DETAILS
Join Oconee River Land Trust (ORLT) for an Herbicide Free invasive species removal and nature hike at the 100-acre Orange Twin property that is protected with a permanent conservation easement. The property has many fern glades and native woodland wildflower species. We will be working to remove exotic privet from these habitats so that the native species can thrive. Then, we’ll hike for about an hour through a mesic hardwood forest full of diverse native species including mountain laurel and mature beech trees down to Noketchee Creek, a clear-flowing stream that feeds Sandy Creek and the North Oconee River.
